The main fundraise of the year!
This is our only fundraising event directly for Wade Thomas.
We invite ALL students to take part and run, walk, skip, or hop laps on the Upper Yard along with their classmates. By asking their community to support them with donations, they (along with a parent or caregiver’s help) raise vital funds to support our school.
It’s a fun event where students are able to show their Mustang spirit! Each grade has an allocated time slot during the day, starting with a warm-up and finishing with a popsicle to celebrate their achievements. The children ask their community for donations to run laps on the playground at the school. It is an all-day event with music, refreshments and lots of school spirit. It’s a fun school wide event and the children have a great time.

DONATE to WTPA
This year, our fundraising goal is $150,000 or $500 per child for Wade Thomas specific equipment and events. WTPA is asking for an all-in contribution, as early in the year as possible, and ideally via the Wade Thomas Fun Run. Early donations allow the school to budget for resources and events for our children.

CORPORATE Matching
Many employers will match the charitable gifts their employees make. This is an easy way to DOUBLE your contribution to the Wade Thomas. The WTPA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Use Federal Tax ID#94-2535840.

Donation receipt
Venmo and PayPal automatically provide sufficient acknowledgment for your records. If you prefer, the WTPA is happy to provide a signed written acknowledgment upon request. Please reach out to wtpadna@gmail.com
Per IRS Publication 1771, a receipt is only required for donations of $250 or more.
This year, we have an overall fundraising target of $150,000 for the Fun Run. Funds raised directly benefit all students at Wade Thomas and in 2024/2025, including covering expenses previously collected through Room Parent requests. We are aiming, amongst other things, to use the money raised on:
- Classroom Supplies and Children’s School Supplies
- School-wide equipment
- Classroom parties and books
- Enrichment programs (Children for Change, Mindfulness, Poetry)
- Field Trips & 5th grade annual trip to Walker Creek
- Community Building events (Community Picnic, Mustang Mingles, Mustang Round up, Field Day)
- Campus Garden and Beautification
- Teacher/Staff Appreciation (Meals and cash gifts)
- Professional Development
- Parents Ed
If each student raises $500, we will definitely reach the target! We also have a goal of 100% student participation! We encourage families to give at whatever level feels most comfortable and remember this year the Fun Run is the primary fundraising vehicle that will cover new expenses (such as children’s school supplies) and expenses previously collected through Classroom Room Parent asks (e.g., class parties). We have also set up a donation page for our school mascot, Magnificent Mustang, that you can donate on behalf of. Donations to Magnificent Mustang will be sprinkled across students who are unable to fundraise. There will be classroom and school-wide prizes based on participation and fundraising milestones.
